Data & deletion: today and how to do it

The current prototype has no account, so there is no cloud data to delete. Here is how the on-device data can be cleared.

Current status

No account = no cloud data

AERA is currently an iOS local prototype: no account, sign-in, or cloud sync. There is no account or data on a server to delete, and no account-deletion flow to walk through.

On-device data

What lives on this device

The prototype only stores the following on your device (all local, nothing uploaded):

checklist / workbench

Your lists and workbench content, stored in on-device UserDefaults.

Mock Health (simulated health data)

Example data from a local simulator, not real health data.

How to clear

Clear all local data

Use AERA's built-in local-data control first:

1Open AERA and go to Settings
2In the danger area, choose "Clear local data"
3Review the scope and choose "Clear local data" again; AERA returns to first launch

This permanently removes modules, check-ins, theme, and onboarding state. Deleting the app is a fallback only if AERA cannot be opened; removing it from the Home Screen also clears its entire local sandbox.

A future account version

Account and cloud-data deletion is future scope

There is currently no account or cloud data to delete. If those capabilities are added, AERA will provide a separate "delete account and cloud data" flow with confirmation and an export opportunity; this page will be updated too.
